Cesare Di Laghi

Cesare Di Laghi was born in Tropea, a small town in the south of Italy. From a young age he trained in artistic gymnastics until he attended his first contemporary dance class at the age of 17. A year later he also began training in ballet and that year received a scholarship to train with Evolution Dance Theatre in Rome. In 2015, he was selected for the Bachelor of Dance at Codarts Dance Academy in Rotterdam. While studying at Codarts, he participated in the 2017 Assemblée Internationale in Toronto, Canada.

During his third year of study, he toured the Netherlands and participated in an exchange at the Alvin Ailey School in New York. He then interned at the Sally Dansgezelschap Maastricht to complete his studies, graduating in 2019. After that he worked as a freelance dancer, touring China and working with choreographers such as Stephen Shropshire, Martin Harriague, Krisztina de Chatel, Jiří Kilian, Cayetano Soto and others.

Since September 2021 Cesare is a permanent member of the wee dance company of the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau.
