Dieke De Gendt

Dieke was born in Belgium in 1999 and started her professional dance training at the Art School of Contemporary Dance in Antwerp (Kunsthumaniora Hedendaagse Dans Antwerpen), where she graduated in 2018. In Antwerp, she had the opportunity to perform pieces by Anton Lachky, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Roberto Olivan, Ohad Naharin, etc.

Dieke later continued her dance studies at Arts Umbrella in Vancouver under the direction of Artemis Gordon, where she graduated in 2020. At Arts Umbrella, she was fortunate to work with choreographers such as Crystal Pite, Emily Molnar, Tom Weinberger, Stephen Shropshire, Amos Ben-Tal, Shannon Gillen, and Liat Waysbort.

In addition to her profession as a dancer, Dieke is also a certified 200-RYT yoga teacher.

Since September 2021 Dieke is a member of the wee dance company of the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau.
